BIO

Norein and Michelle Otero make up the eccentric designing sister duo of Ecliptica. These two designers recognized their talent for design at the young age of fifteen and pursued their passion blindly. They nurtured their skills by studying art and marketing at the University of Puerto Rico and graduated with a two year associate degree fashion design program. Upon graduating they decided to share their designs with the world and so was born “Ecliptica”.
Their clothing line, Ecliptica has been the trend setting movement in Puerto Rico since 2001. Their followers consist not only of Latin fashionistas but superstars such as Roselyn Sanchez, Adamari Lopez, Dayanara Torres, Millie Corretjer, Denise Quiñones (Miss Universe 2001), Carmen Dominicci, spanish singer Rosario and internationally known Hilary Duff and Nelly Furtado. In March 2006 the sisters became the first puertorricans to be chosen by the internationally known Gen Art Organization to show their Fall 06 collection in Miami. Later in 2007 they were chosen again as finalist for the international Gen Art Styles competition in New York. Ecliptica has been part of many editorials for magazines such as Bazaar, In Style, Dolly, Caras, Vanidades,In Fashion, Imagen and Belleza y Salud.
In their designs the elements such as draping, embroidery, fringes, macramé on flowing light silk fabrics making each piece stand out and unique. The silhouettes most consist of plunging necklines and detailed pieces with much fluidity giving a statuesque goddess appeal.
Ecliptica clothing is out of this world, electric, eclectic and modern as the name it derives from. Ecliptica represents the apparent annual path of the sun on the celestial sphere and it is what dictates the changes of season. This name falls in with the fashion proposal of the clothing line since it goes accordingly with the actual tendencies of the global market.
